You HAVE to stay at Port Orleans - Riverside on your next Disney trip
Transport yourself to the picturesque setting of New Orleans with a peaceful stay at Port Orleans Riverside Resort in Walt Disney World. You can choose to stay in the white mansions of the Magnolia Bend or the cottages of the bayou. Port Orleans Riverside is a moderate resort and a short walk or boat ride away from Port Orleans French Quarter. For today, we are giving you a look into the Riverside resort and our personal experience staying there!
On the expense scale for Disney World resorts, Port Orleans Riverside is a moderate level resort, so it is a tad more expensive than value resorts such as Pop Century, All Stars, and Art of Animation.
Here’s a run down of what Port Orleans Riverside offers:
Recreation
So one thing I absolutely loved about the Riverside resort was that it isn’t just geared towards kids; there are so many things that both kids and adults can enjoy at this resort.
Here is a list of activities specific to Port Orleans Riverside resort.
Pools
Horse Drawn Carriage Rides
Bike Rentals
Fishing
Jogging trail, playground, and arcade are just a few more activities you can enjoy at this resort.
Dining
You have a couple different dining options while staying at the Riverside resort.
Riverside Mill Food Court
Boatwright’s Dining Hall
Shopping
One of my favourite things to do right at your doorstep if you’re staying at the Riverside resort; visit the Fulton’s General Store and take yourself on a little shopping spree.
Transportation
What I find so convenient about this resort is the transportation options you have. You have multiple bus stops along the resort to transport you to the parks and Disney Springs (find the closest bus stop to the area of the resort you are staying in); as well as the friendship boats that you can board at the Riverside Levee Marina that will take you to the French Quarter or to Disney Springs!
Let’s not forget about the rooms - you have different options for your room view and it offers lots of room for guests to sleep. One room has the 5th sleeper option, perfect for the smaller guests to sleep on and it features Louis the Alligator from Princess and the Frog - how cute!
Honestly, there isn’t anything bad I have to say about this resort. We have stayed here multiple times and it has become a favourite of ours. I genuinely enjoy the quiet atmosphere, especially after being at a busy park all day, coming back to a quiet and relaxing resort is the perfect way to end the day.
We would love to hear your thoughts on the Port Orleans Riverside Resort, let us know what you think!
