You HAVE to book a Caring for Giants elephant tour on your next visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the parks that offer a variety of tours for the animal-loving guest. The tour we will be discussing today and giving a brief review on is the Caring for Giants elephant tour.

This one-hour tour offers both an up-close and backstage look at Animal Kingdom and the elephants found on Kilimanjaro Safari. This tour requires a reservation and the cost is $35 US per person, plus tax.

This is an outdoor experience, so be sure to dress for the weather.

Arrive 15 minutes prior to the time of your tour and check-in at the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk across from the Kilimanjaro Safari. You will receive a name tag with your name written on it (Fun fact: the name tag is made from 85% elephant poop!) Here you will wait until the group is together and then the guide will take you backstage. Note: while backstage, you will not be allowed to take any photos. Please be aware and listen to your guide for when you can and cannot take photos. You will board a bus that will take you to an area behind Kilimanjaro Safari where you and the group will have an area to view the elephants from 80-100 ft away. Your guide will provide you with numerous facts about the elephants and will be happy to answer any questions you have!

Our Review

We absolutely loved the Caring for Giants experience! When we went on the tour, we were lucky enough to have gone around the time of the birth of a baby elephant, so we were able to get a ton of adorable photos! The elephants do move around so at some points in time you may not see them, but they do appear and you are able to get some great photos! Luckily, the elephants stuck around for a while when we were there. Our guide was amazing and so knowledgeable!

Would we recommend this tour? Oh for sure! For the price and the experience that you get, we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for something extra special to do while at Animal Kingdom. We’ve always been so fascinated with animals, so we couldn’t pass up being able to have a close up view of these amazing animals and learning all about them!

What are your thoughts on this tour? Would you book it for your next vacation? Let us know in the comments!
